Model upload with Google Drive

I strongly agree. My internet connection is too limited and my upload stops every time I tried to upload only 140 MB LoRA file. I still cannot upload anything other than a few images. This feature certainly gives us a GREAT benefit, while it does not interfere other users who already enjoy their fast and steady connection. Whoever against it, you just do not have to upload from Google Drive. That's it. I do not know why there are users who are against it. Any other places which accept slow connection upload will be also welcome.

not google drive but huggingface would be amazing, you can already upload from google colab to hugging face directly.
huggingface seems like a better storage for tests and trained unreleased models and people wont worry about the google issues.

I disagree, google drive also has quota limits, they are extremely annoying and occur per user. I hope this does not pass.

Mooshieblob: It is true that Google Drive has a quota limit for each user. However, by allowing users to upload models from Google Drive, we aim to provide an alternative for those already using Google Colab as a tool to train AI models. In many cases, users will use Google Colab to interactively train their models, and they may have stored those models in Google Drive.
By allowing users to upload models directly from Google Drive, we hope to make it easier for users to use existing models without having to download and re-upload them from their own device. This can help save quota and reduce the need for a strong internet connection.

Disagree, other cloud hosts like mega, yandex disk, mail.ru cloud should be considered

This feature would be a huge time saver, especially for checkpoints creators 👍

navimixu: Thank you for the positive feedback! We were pleased to hear that this feature can be a significant time saver, especially for checkpoint builders in AI model training.
Allowing users to upload models directly from Google Drive storage provides convenience for those who frequently create checkpoints during model training. This way, they can quickly access and use the checkpoint without having to download it and re-upload it from their device.

I agree that the feature to upload models from Google Drive storage will greatly help users in saving quota and internet connection. This will make the uploading process easier and more convenient, especially for users who frequently upload large models. I hope this feature can be added and implemented in the near future.

Sri Mamireni: True, large file uploads often crash on slow connections
Atsuhiro
DamarJati: It actually does! I have not been able to upload just one GD 140 MB LoRA file yet! https://civitai.canny.io/bugs/p/my-connection-is-too-slow-to-upload-a-lora-file
